Download Widget

Allow your clients to download their certificates by entering their personal data.

After entering personal information, such as an email address or name, visitors will gain access to files matching their request from the Drive. If there are multiple files, visitors can download them either as a single archive or a PDF file.

The widget can be embedded into any website or accessed via a link.

Adding the Widget

To add the widget, go to «Widgets» - «Download Widget» and add the widget by clicking the respective button. There is no limit to the number of widgets you can create per account.

Configuring the Widget

  • Domain where the widget will be hosted. Specify only the domain name. If embedding the widget on a site is not planned, leave this section empty.
  • Widget Title. The text displayed as the widget's title. By default, this is "Get Document," but it can be customized to match the content, such as "Download Certificate."
  • Subtitle. The text displayed directly under the widget's title. It can provide tips or usage instructions for the widget.
  • Button Text below the input fields for personal data. Clicking the button will display files corresponding to the entered data.
  • Waiting Message. While the file is being prepared, a message like "Please wait" will be displayed, along with the text specified in this field.
  • File Access. Restrict access to files through the widget. You can specify multiple folders or select all files in the Drive. If a file is in a subfolder and its parent folder is specified in this field, it will also be accessible. The folder hierarchy doesn't matter.
  • Add File Edit Button. This toggle adds an edit button (a pencil icon) next to each downloadable file.

For editing functionality, you need to enable the Edit Widget and configure it. If a file is not editable (e.g., edit limit exceeded or the Edit Widget restricts editing to specific folders), the button won't appear.

This feature is useful if files might contain typos that the recipient can correct on their own.

  • Offer to Download Multiple Files as an Archive. If multiple files match the provided data, users will be offered the option to download them as a single archive or PDF.
  • Add “Share with Friends” Section. Social sharing buttons will be added beneath the search results, allowing users to share a link to your site. The first file from the search results will appear as the preview image of the shared post.
  • Main Color and Text Color. Customize the widget's appearance by specifying the primary color and text color of the main button.
  • Custom Styles. CSS styles that can be applied to widget elements for enhanced personalization.

Input Fields

  • Variable. The variable to check against, such as %name. Specify it as it appears in your documents. For example, an email address would be %email.
  • Matching Accuracy. Defines how precisely the variable must match. Options include "exact match" (the string is fully checked), "first word" (only the first word must match), "any word" (any word can match), and "last 4 characters" (only the last 4 characters are checked).
  • Ignore Characters. Characters in this string will be ignored during the check. Separate them with a semicolon (;). For example, to ignore spaces and periods, enter  ;..
  • Field Name. The label displayed in the input field, such as "Full Name" or "Email Address."
  • Help Text. Guidance displayed beneath the input field. It can include format tips for the data entered.

Multiple Input Fields

You can display just one field (e.g., name or email) or two for increased security.

Embedding Code on a Website

To place the widget on your website, insert the provided code into the desired location. The code should be added where the widget will appear, such as a dedicated page for document retrieval.

Access via Link

The widget can also be accessed through a direct link that you can share with recipients. To enable this, allow link-based access in the settings and copy the generated link.

Inserting a Link in an Email Campaign

You can include a link to the widget in your email text. By clicking the link, recipients can download one or all files, or edit data if editing is enabled.

For example, you might write something like "Click here to view all your certificates." Then, add the widget link to the word "here," and append variables from the widget configuration at the end of the link, such as:
https://your_widget_link/?p1=variable1&p2=variable2
where "variable" corresponds to the fields you configured, such as %name or %email. If using only one variable in the widget, append just the first variable. If the widget URL already contains a question mark (?), use & for additional parameters.

For example, if the widget has one field %email and is hosted at https://test.com/form/, the link should look like: https://test.com/form/?p1=%email

During email campaigns, variables will be replaced with personal data from your files. This ensures that recipients see their files immediately upon clicking the link.

Widget Modification

If you need to modify the widget "on the fly" by changing settings based on the webpage being accessed, you can use a modifier table. This is handy when multiple widgets are needed on different pages or when quickly updating email templates, design colors, or documents without creating a new widget. Learn more.
